Unknown Addiction

Deception, a sweet nectar for liars,

a smoky wine,

pleasant to the taste,

an addiction sublime.

Denial, the nectar consumed.

Empty inside

the addict emerges

As false realities collide

Truth, ignored deep in the mind.

Numb to the core.

Desperate for a fix.

Grasping the habits of before.

Static, unwilling to address the root

deeply buried.

Love from the deceived,

the crutch of comfort by which he's carried.
